Some Thoughts

Some stuff about your Momma during the time you were in her belly:

1. I am a sucker for books. I fell into the whole Young Adult trap earlier this year and just read and read and read. I also re read the Harry Potter Series (up until the 7th book - I have yet to start that one again).  One of the best books this year was "11/22/63" by Stephen King. Fantastic book....I can't even describe it. I sure hope you love to read...although I don't believe that will be a problem because you already have a bajillion books and I will read to you until YOU end up memorizing everything in that book. READING is amazing. I really hope you fall in love with it.

2. I prefer movie score music to actual radio music. I am thinking this may have to do with me being in band from 5th grade to 12th grade. Somehow movie score music will move me to tears. Call it pregnancy hormones but it always gets me. I was into these particular songs this year....

Anything Dark Knight Rises by Hans Zimmer. Yes, your dad and I adore Batman - hence your room. I have never cried during a Batman movie until watching The Dark Knight Rises. Those last 15 minutes just made me bawl. If I was alone I am pretty sure it would have become uncontrollable. It was a pretty perfect ending.  I could seriously cry over it right now - I am pretty sure that is Pregnancy hormones kicking in right there.

Snow White and the Huntsman. You are going to look back one of these days and get really confused over Kristen Stewart's acting ability but I actually enjoyed this movie. You should listen to the score. It didn't move me to tears though lol.

Rise of The Planet of The Apes. The very last song - "Caesar's Home" by Patrick Doyle is fabulous.

I listened to the Harry Potter music alot. The music never did move me to tears but I thoroughly enjoyed every song.

Horror movie music - well some of it - is sometimes fantastic. I must say my favorite song from a horror movie is from 28 Days Later. "In The House - In a Heartbeat" by John Murphy is eerie and fabulous. I would play that song year around it is that darn good (I enjoy 28 Weeks later - Movie wise more than 28 days)

I started watching Game of Thrones with Matt this year and the main theme song is rather annoying...and the fact that Matt had me watch someone on youtube spoof the song made me hate it even more (because it was catchy and would not LEAVE MY HEAD) but there was this one song that caught my attention. Apparently it did to a lot of people because I went to google and typed a question about this song and I was not the only one. "Pay The Iron Price" by Ramin Djawadi is a sad piece. It even more sad when you realize what is going on when this song comes on.

I know Matt can not get enough of the LOTR music - I enjoy it but I enjoy the darker songs from the movies

3. I really hope you realize how important your grades are in high school. I wish I knew better. I hope you have my drive like I had in college with your dad's natural smarts. I also hope you realize you SERIOUSLY can do whatever you put your mind to. I never thought I could be a doctor or an engineer so I didn't even bother....but I DID know that I wanted to work downtown in a big office someday for an Oil and Gas company and look at where I am right now at 26...I made it.

4. I hope you also realize that you may not be the tallest or buffest guy out there but that doesn't matter. Don't ever let anyone bring you down. People make fun of others because they are jealous of you in some way and they just refuse to admit it -  Although you may not believe it at the time. There is always something going on in the bully's head that is making them that way - wanting to be smart like you will be or talented like you will be (my dad will be making you a golf pro and I have a feeling you will be musically talented) or they will be jealous that you will have such a great family life :)  GOD made you exactly how he wanted you to be - don't ever be ashamed of who you are. You are perfect.

Your dad, Presley, Gabby, Myself, and all your grandparents love you oh so much.

24 weeks pregnant...don't look at my hair

25!!

25 weeks pregnant

You’re 25 weeks pregnant and it’s probably dawned on you that soon you’ll actually have to deliver this baby. (A little scary, but exciting!) What’s cool is that most hospitals will let you preregister, which means you can put in your paperwork early, so the day you go into labor, you don’t have to stand around filling out a bunch of forms before you get admitted. Maybe you’re getting nervous about delivery, or maybe it’s your haywire hormones, but you might start to have trouble sleeping around week 25. This is a common complaint of many moms-to-be. Some people will tell you that’s just your body’s way of prepping you for sleepless nights with baby, but those comments won’t help you get the rest you need! Experiment with different strategies for getting some sleep. One idea is to drink extra water early in the day, so you can start tapering off your intake as you get closer to bedtime. That way, you might need less bathroom breaks during the night and can keep sleeping. After all, now that baby’s crowding your bladder, you’ve got to pee. A lot.
Your baby's the size of an cauliflower!
During month six, the average fetus measures about 13.6 inches to 14.8 inches and weighs about 1.5 to 2.5 pounds.

your baby at 25 weeks
  • He's enjoying her new sense of equilibrium -- he now knows which way is up and which is down.
  • He's growing more fat and more hair too!

24 week check up ultrasound!! We had to have another ultrasound so our doctor could possibly see more of your heart. You were very stubborn but we were able to get a semi good picture. NO ABNORMALITIES!

In the first picture you decided to have your hands over your face...hi mom, hi dad, hi puggles!

The second picture is a bit freaky....yes you have your mouth open.

we were also told you would probably want to be a stomach sleeping baby. Here comes nervous momma!

Oh baby Max....we like to get large trees...... just you wait!

So we are having issues with picking out a name for sweet Baby H. We had a name for a girl but none for a boy. We have searched through many online sites and books and really found 3 that we liked. Two of them just don't sound like our kid (at this time) and I had to grow on the one Matt suggested. I refused it at first because I knew of someone who named their kid that. But I started thinking about it and it just seems like it will fit our kiddo so incredibly well.

We hope to have this name down pat because I know some family members want to personalize some stuff for this little boy.

I called the nurse yesterday because I had a weird symptom and I looked it up online and realized that it was on the list of things to NOT ignore.

My right calf hurts. bad. It hurts like I had been doing calf raises...and I have not. I called and remembered while we were talking that I had a Charlie Horse the night before and remember waking up to some part of my leg hurting last night. I don't remember much since it was the middle of the night. We concluded that I am doing something crazy in my sleep and it is killing my calf. Matt felt a knot in that area yesterday. Hurts like hell and I walk like an old person.

The reason it is a symptom to not ignore is because I am prone to blood clots when I am pregnant. BUT, there is no discoloration and no tingling so I think we are in the clear but I will be monitoring it!

23!!

23 weeks pregnant

At 23 weeks, baby’s really getting ready for his big debut, listening in on what’s going on in the outside world. And you’re getting ready too. Just remember: While having the nursery painted and stocking it with diapers is important, there are some other pressing things you should have on your radar. Namely, financials. Around week 23 is a good time to call your and your partner’s insurance agent to check how you’re currently covered and decide what adjustments you’ll want to make for baby. You might also want to start thinking about writing a will, if you don’t have one, or updating your current one. How’s baby’s savings account going? If you’re like, “what savings account?” that’s okay. But decide whether or not you want to start one for him. One study found that kids who have their own savings account are more likely to go to college, and another one estimated the average cost of raising a baby until age 18 to be over $226,000. Whoa!
your baby's the size of a grapefruit!
At about 10.5 to 11.8 inches and about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces, baby's not just getting bigger, he's getting even cuter.

your baby at 23 weeks
  • He's forming little nipples (yeah, really!)
  • His face is fully formed now -- he just needs a little extra fat to fill it out.
  • He's listening to your voice and your heartbeat -- and even to loud sounds like cars honking and dogs barking.

Good Morning, Baby Boy....

you know what your favorite thing to do is right now?

Kick my bladder....kick it to where I get a twinge and I feel like I am going to pee.

Hope you are enjoying yourself ;)

I wouldn't have it any other way

22 weeks pregnant

During week 22, baby’s invading your space, which is why it might be tough to catch your breath and why your back might be killing you. Hey, as he grows, he may be expanding your belly so much (so fast) that you might have some stretch marks -- and you might even have a newfound “outtie”! What’s not so cool is that the stretch marks may never fade, but we promise they’ll fade in color after delivery. And your outtie will go back to an innie, we promise. This is also a good time to schedule a maternity portrait session. You’ll want to aim for the third trimester -- but not so late that you risk going into labor before your appointment.
your baby's the size of a papaya!
During month five, the average fetus measures about 10.5 to 11.8 inches and weighs about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces.

your baby at 22 weeks
  • Now that he's got more developed eyes and lips, he's looking even more like a newborn.
  • He's sleeping in cycles -- about 12 to 14 hours per day (hint: they're probably those times you're not feeling any kicks!).

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

21 WEEKS!!

21 weeks pregnant

Pressure’s on. Have you found the perfect baby name yet? It seems like parents-to-be either come up with baby’s name quickly and easily, or agonize over it all the way up until the birth. Either way, once you find one that seems perfect, you’ll probably think it’s even more perfect once you get to know (and fall in love with) the little bundle of joy who’ll go by it.
At 21 weeks, not only are you likely to be looking anywhere and everywhere for baby name ideas, but you might be getting a sneak preview of some third trimester symptoms, such as leaky boobs, Braxton Hicks contractions and heartburn. While your body preps for baby’s arrival, you’re probably hard at work getting your home ready too. Of course, things like baby bouncers and changing table pads can be tough to choose from, but try not to stress. Baby won’t care if you pick out a playard that clashes with the area rug.
your baby's the size of a pomegranate!
At 10.5 inches and about 12.7 ounces, he's big enough now that you've probably been feeling his movements.

your baby at 21 weeks
  • As hisdigestive system preps for the outside world, he's manufacturing meconium -- the tarry black substance you'll find in his first dirty diaper (ew)!
  • If it's a girl, she's already got a lifetime's supply of eggs in her womb -- about six million of them! (NOPE!)

 pregnancy symptoms at 21 weeks
  • Some heartburn and/or indigestion. Avoid spicy and greasy foods and other triggers.
  • Braxton Hicks contractions. Your uterus might occasionally feel tight as it practices for labor.
  • Leaky boobs. Your milk ducts will be fully developed by the end of this trimester.
  • Dry, itchy skin, from all that stretching over your growing bump.
  • Stretch marks. You skin gets pulled thinner as baby grows. Don't worry, they should fade significantly after birth.
