Our little lovie got sick this past weekend.

Max got a viral rash....101-102 degree fever and a rash all over his body...some of them turned into blisters :(

Despite being so sick, he did give us a lot of smiles and tried some oatmeal for us. Look at his little sick body :(

Then I decided to get more adventurous - since he had already had oatmeal before - I waived the 3 day period and cooked Acorn Squash

Once cooked and Pureed it looked just like applesauce but the smell wasn't as pleasant

I decided to freeze some of the squash for later use - hopefull

my awful left handed writing made sheets where I copied down recipes and put them in my own binder

I am in love with that face! He gagged twice...and the 2nd time he threw it up! We were done for the day!

One Proud Papa

So there are things that I know about myself and my friends and family, but its always nice to have it confirmed by a somewhat impartial third party.  That happened this morning.

I went to drop Maxim off at daycare, as per our usual routine.  He was moved up to a new class this week, so there was a little adjustment there, but really not too bad.  His former teachers absolutely loved him, they would get excited when I would drop him off, and almost seem to fight over who got to hold him first, so it was kind of tough to lose them as his caretakers, but thankfully we picked a daycare full of great people, so it isn't too difficult to move on.

Well this morning, right when I walked in, one of his new teachers just started raving about him.  She told me that he was their best baby, and that they just couldn't get enough of how much he likes to smile and play with them.  While we were talking, one of his teachers from his first room poped in and just went nuts when she saw Max.  She grabbed him from me and took him to his old class and sat in a rocker just holding and talking to him. Is it wrong to say I think it made her day?

I am glad that everyone else gets to share in the same things that I do.  I have the best son in the world, he's absolutely perfect.

Blog Hijacking - My morning with Maxim

So, I've decided that for the sake of fun, and to give the readers and Maxim a different perspective on things, that when the mood strikes me, I will jump on here and add posts of my own.  I am no writer, and my style/sense of humor is unique, so keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times, and hold on for the ride!

This morning was an interesting one.  Max decided last night that he would not nap in the evening at all, but instead wanted to go to bed around 7:30...an hour earlier than normal.  The result? He was up an hour earlier than normal.  Now, anyone who knows me, knows I love my sleep.  Next to my wife and child, it may be my favorite thing ever.  I told Alex to just put him in bed next to me, and I'd take care of it.  What I meant was, put him next to me, and I'm going to try and get this last hour of sleep in spite of this kid.

Well, Max (being the perfect little angel that he is) just laid on my pillow next to me and talked, and giggled, and played.  Did this help me sleep? No, not in the slightest, but it was still pretty neat.  He didn't need my interaction to be happy, he just needed his ceiling fan and plug/turtle and he was good to go.  Also, he decided that 6:35 (5 minutes before my alarm goes off) would be a great time to finally fall asleep.

I love that kid.

We have a baby book, a calendar, a day by day book where I write about what goes on and include a picture, and a Monthly picture shutterfly book (that is too precious!) I keep up to date with all of them! I still need to make a book about me blogging my pregnancy.

I'm chopping off my hair today. I can't handle it much longer. My hair constantly falls out. It's bad. What is even worse is that I seriously have a phobia of loose hair. Even though I'll brush out all the loose hair it keeps on falling out throughout the day and I can't take that. It's probably because i always wear my hair up - but I wear it up because I can't handle it down. Lose-Lose. Wearing my hair up everyday also really kills my self esteem. Here's to better hair today.
