I had my 3 co-workers, Monica, Allison, and Christina go into an empty office and look in the envelope and put the correct onesie in a giftbag and staple it close!

20!!

20 weeks pregnant

Congrats! You almost reached the halfway point. Making it to 20 weeks probably feels pretty darn good. . Of course, it wouldn’t be pregnancy if you weren’t experiencing some annoying symptoms. Right now, it’s likely swelling, heartburn and leg cramps, but all of that probably feels insignificant now that you’ve got ultrasound photos of your rapidly developing baby. How cute is that nose? If you found out baby’s sex, you’re in a completely new mindset, are we right? Now, those baby names you’re throwing out are more likely to end up as baby’s, and when you find yourself in a baby store, those little blue or pink outfits aren’t just adorable, they’re must-haves. And since now you can add clothes and other boyish or girlish things to your wish list, week 20 is the time you probably want to start putting together your baby registry too. Happy shopping!
your baby's the size of a banana!
Baby weighs about 10.2 ounces and measures about 6.5 inches. She's still got a lot of growing to do though. Can you believe you're halfway done?

your baby at 20 weeks
  • She's got working taste buds.
  • Now, she's gulping down several ounces of amniotic fluid each day -- that's significantly more than before.

October 17th was our 3 year anniversary! We are pretty low key people (yesss)

I got Matt a card and went and got Wing Stop for dinner.

Matt got me this beautiful fall plant and a gift card to Massage Envy for a prenatal massage!

Unfortunately, I had bad nausea and took a pill to get rid of it. Those pills drug me like you wouldn't believe. I was in bed at 8pm.

We officially have our Christmas Card Picture!

Presley decided to act like a teenager and refused to look at the camera. He also got out of his collar and went and found "cooler" people to hang with. Typical.

I was going to get these cute christmas cards but it was going to end up being about $70 So i found some cute cards at Target and will just print this picture out.

I have been feeling the kiddo kick for about a week. Or I believe I feel it kick. It's like little teeny tiny punches. Kinda like a little pop. Pretty cool. Can't wait for Matt to feel them!

19 Weeks

19 weeks pregnant

At 19 weeks, you’re probably getting psyched for your mid-pregnancy ultrasound. Most parents-to-be think of this test as the chance they get to find out baby’s sex. But you actually will see a lot more than baby’s boy or girl parts. The ultrasound technician will scan pretty much scan all of baby’s body to make sure everything’s developing properly. Don’t leave the place without getting some printouts from the scan to take home with you and show off. Of course, going in for your test isn’t the only thing you should be planning ahead for around week 19, you should also probably start the search for a pediatrician. Start by asking some family and friends for recommendations and then make a few appointments to meet with the docs. So what do you think it is -- a boy or a girl?
your baby's the size of a mango!
At about 6.0 inches long and weighing in at about 8.5 ounces, she's getting there!

your baby at 19 weeks
  • Developing a protective coating over her skin, called vernix caseosa. It's greasy and white and you may see some of it at her birth.
  • Working on her five senses. Nerve cells for her sense of taste, hearing, sight and smell are developing in her brain.

 pregnancy symptoms at 19 weeks
  • Aches and pains in your abdomen, caused by your muscles stretching to accommodate baby.
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Leg cramps: one way to ease the pain: Extend your leg and flex your ankle and toes toward your knees. Or enlist your partner for a calf (and back!) massage.
  • Hip pain. If it bothers you at night, try sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees.

18 Weeks!

18 weeks pregnant

What the heck is baby doing in there at 18 weeks? A lot! He’s working his muscles and practicing all kinds of moves. (Can you feel them yet?) Over the next few weeks, you should make sure to start sleeping on your side. That’s because baby (and your uterus) are getting big enough to press against large veins in the back of your abdomen, which can reduce the amount of blood going to your heart, making you feel lightheaded, or worse, lowering your blood pressure. Of course, your veins aren’t the only things that are prone to pressure -- you might be too! Not only are you super busy, but you might be having some not-so-fun symptoms, like swollen feet or hands, backaches, leg cramps and nosebleeds. And the stress and discomfort might be keeping you up at night around week 18. Be sure, in your hectic schedule, that you plan some time to unwind. (Great excuse for some pregnancy pampering! Can you say prenatal massage?!) It’s important to give your body and your mind a break for a little while. That just might help you get the sleep you need, too.
your baby's the size of a sweet potato!
She's about 5.6 inches long and about 6.7 ounces now and she keeps on growing rapidly. (That's why you're probably feeling so hungry.)

your baby at 18 weeks
  • Can you believe she's yawning, hiccuping, sucking and swallowing?
  • And she's twisting, rolling, punching and kicking, too -- and she's big enough that you might be able to feel her doing it!

Update

It is officially kidney stones. I was told to home yesterday after I talked to the doctor. She wasn't in the office  Tuesday so she wanted me to come in Wednesday at 1030. So I went home and slept and took more vicodin. It is helping.

The appointment went well...the baby's heartbeat is 145bpm and is strong! I was told to drink a lot of water and lemonade and if the pain doesn't go away by Monday then I need to call back.

So I will remained drugged and tired until these suckers pass....please let it be soon!

Sick.

SO I want to talk about our weekend but I will wait until next time.

Monday morning at 130am I woke up from a dead sleep to my uterus hurting. BAD. I called an on call nurse and they called my doctor we and thought it was ligament pain from everything growing insside of me. I was told to take Tylenol and that it was completely normal. All of my preggo or used to be preggo friends decided on the same thing.

I was miserable. No one told me about this symptom...! I ended up calling the nurse at 8am and tried to get an appointment because it was not getting any better, I ended up just dropping off some urine and went home thinking I possibly had a UTI because I had the feeling that I always needed to go to the bathroom.

Turns out it was not a UTI. I was finally able to get some sleep. Things started to get bad around 730pm....didn't really get to enjoy the Texans game. I called the on call nurse again and they called the on call doctor and we walked through my symptoms.

I let her know that the lower back right side of my back was throbbing in pain and I was wondering if i possibly had kidney stones. The pain had not let up since 130am. She told me she was going to look at my urine again and said that there was no infection but there was a little bit of blood in my urine. She said with my history of kidney stones (back in 2006) that this was what was going on. She sent me a prescription and I went to a 24hr pharmacy.

I received Vicodin and took it and within the hour I was finally relaxed...minus the having to pee all the time and nothing coming out - that never went away.

I finally fell asleep at 11pm and came to work today. I was told that I needed to get in to see my doctor asap  so when 8am comes around I will be making an appointment.

I am beginning to hurt again and took some more pills. I am just uncomfortable and hurting.

Drinking water as we speak.
I am so stupid.
I will keep you updated when I see my doctor again.

sheesh

17 Weeks!

17 Weeks Pregnant

Try not to get freaked out by the numbers on your scale. At 17 weeks, baby’s working on getting stronger, and your body’s working on getting bigger. That means putting on some pounds and -- we hate to break it to you -- getting some stretch marks. Make sure you document your growing bump by taking lots of photos. Sure, you might not always feel so pretty, but one day you’re going to look back at pregnancy and reminisce (really -- we promise). You’ll also want to start figuring out some plans, like whether or not you’re going to find out baby’s gender (you should be able to soon!), and what kind of childbirth class you’d like to take. As you start making these decisions, the pregnancy will feel even more real, which is probably super exciting, but part of you is probably feeling a little nervous. After all, you’re at week 17; that’s almost halfway there and there’s still a lot left to do. Chill! You’ll get it done. Just remember not to try to do it all yourself -- ask for help!

your baby's the size of an onion!
Baby continues to beef up. Now she's about 5.1 inches long and weighs about 5.9 ounces.

your baby at 17 weeks
  • Her rubbery cartilage is now turning to bone.
  • And she's growing some meat on those bones -- putting on some fat.
  • She's growing a stronger, thicker umbilical cord, too.

16 Weeks 5 Days

I probably should not be grocery shopping because for the past 3 weeks I have been buying an excess of something each time I go

Week 1: 3 packs of Jello where you boil the water and everything
Week 2: Peanuts and Pistachios
Week 3: Chips....I bought Tostitos, Doritos, Sour Cream and Onion, and Fritos chips.

Not ashamed...lol.

16 weeks!
